P4/5 - Weekly News (4.3.22)

4th Mar 2022

P4/5 have had a busy week with lots going on in and outside of the classroom.
On Monday we were introduced to the book 'The Barnabus Project' which was a whole school approach as part of World Book Day. Throughout the week we completed posters, wrote postcards expressing how Barnabus may have felt whilst trapped inside a bell jar, designed a new escape route for Barnabus and his friends and drew and created our own perfect pets using clay. This was a great story highlighting that nothing is impossible if you try and never give up. It also highlighted the importance of sticking together and working as a team to solve problems.

Our numeracy focus was on sequencing numbers, revision of our times tables and area.

Our ICT work over the coming weeks will be on designing and creating a PowerPoint about our topic 'Ancient Egypt'. During topic work we learnt about mummification and the process of mummifying.

We made delicious Pancakes on Tuesday, had PE on Wednesday with the IFA Disney Playmakers Programme which was led by Stephen, dressed up for World Book Day on Thursday and on Friday we had a special treat for Miss Adams to thank her for all her help and guidance since joining our class last year. We will all miss having Miss Adams in our class daily but will still be able to see her around the school, helping other classes.

A busy and enjoyable week, well done everyone. Have a lovely weekend 😊
