15th Mar 2020

Dear Parent,

On Friday we were updated by the Minister for Education and the Chief Executive of the Education Authority to say all schools will be open on Monday. We are closed for the Bank Holiday on Tuesday and unless directed otherwise will reopen on Wednesday. If anything changes we will let you know.

The Government and NHS have issued advice on COVID19. If you have: a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back OR a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly you should stay at home for 7 days.

Please be assured that as a school we will be prepared for every eventuality. Staff have been working tremendously hard to ensure that in the inevitable event of a prolonged school closure, all pupils from P1-P7 will have year group materials and access to learning online. All this information will be sent home to the children over the next number of days.

Above all, let us work together and help each other through this time of uncertainty. Remember our kids are watching us and learning about how to respond. Mullaglass Primary School has always been at the heart of the community and now is our time to show this. We can all work together and help those who may be unable to get out of the house for basic needs. If you have an elderly neighbour or relatives who need help, please pm us at any stage.

This week, there will be no 3-4pm clubs. There will be 2-3pm clubs that we will facilitate as a school. Breakfast Club will remain. All school trips and outside agencies coming into school have been postponed.

I will be in the office tomorrow and if anyone has any concerns, please phone or call into school for a chat. As soon as we receive any information, we will inform parents.

Mr Greenaway

Principal
