P4/5 ~ News (24.10.25)

24th Oct 2025

We have had a busy first half term in P4/5 and have developed good daily routines.

Our recent work in literacy has focused on identifying and using conjunctions in our writing. We have worked on verbs and how they can make our writing more descriptive and exciting to read as well as weekly spelling and comprehension lessons. We have also spent time writing descriptively in greater length to apply our skills of adding additional grammar such as adjectives and verbs. The children have worked hard on writing acrostic poems related to Halloween and came up with some interesting sentences and rhyming, too.

We have continued our work on times tables, and we have applied these skills to solve fractions. This week, we have been recalling what we know about 3D shapes and learning about the properties of each shape.

Our topic work has continued to focus on Paddington with recent activities linked to researching Paddington Station in London.

Everyone worked very hard to learn their lines for the Harvest assembly and performed the class poem beautifully.

It has been a great first half term, and the children have earned a well-deserved break.

Have a lovely break and stay safe.

Ms Doyle.
