P4/5 News ~ 3.10.25
We have been busy working on developing our times tables skills orally and in written form as well as revising our 2D shape knowledge. The P5 children were also learning about different types of triangles.
Our literacy work has been focused on using commas when writing a list or writing longer sentences. The children have been reading different pieces of text and editing it to try and find spelling errors or missing punctuation. These are key skills that we need to develop to help spot errors in our own writing.
We have continued our topic work on Paddington with activities linked to London and famous landmarks. We identified lots of landmarks we knew and then used Google to find out facts about some of them. We also linked part of our literacy work to Paddington by sharing ideas to describe Paddington's personality, what he looks like, and what we know about him. I was impressed with our writing and the effort shown to add detail.
We finished our PDMU lessons that were focused on our value of the month 'community'. We chatted specifically about our Mullaglass school community and how we feel when we are at school, and the importance of all the adults and children working together to create a happy, safe place for everyone to learn.
Thanks to our student Riley, who we had in P4/5 this week. The children all enjoyed chatting to him, and we appreciate the support and help he has shown to help us with our work throughout the week.
Another great couple of weeks P4/5, well done!
Have a lovely weekend!
Ms Doyle.
