P6/7 enjoyed their trip to Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. We walked through the exhibition before following the ‘Snowdogs’ trail through the gardens and then we entered the castle and stepped back in time to 1850. We were greeted by Rose, the parlour maid, who showed us the beautifully decorated castle and taught us lots about Christmas in the Victorian era. Finally, we had a special visit from Father Christmas himself, who gifted each of the pupils a sugar mouse. A wonderful conclusion to our topic learning on the Victorians.
