Remembrance Day P6/7

11th Nov 2020

As part of our WW1 topic work, P6/7 have been learning about the significance of Remembrance Day and how the symbol of the poppy came about.  Today, to mark Remembrance Day we watched a short video at 11am which led us through how to observe the 2 minutes silence.

For our art lesson today we made clay poppy bowls. We learnt lots about moulding and joining clay and were very pleased with our final pieces. We just need to leave them to dry before we paint them. Lots of the pupils have also been busy making their own poppies for our WW1 window display.
