Mullaglass Primary School, Newry, County Down

Update

16th Mar 2020

*Update
The guidance from the Department of Education this morning is that at present schools should remain open.

However, you as a parent know your child and family circumstances best. Should your child have a cough or temperature, the advice given from Public Health Agency is to keep your child at home. Please call the school in such circumstances and keep us informed.

Staff have been preparing last week and after school this evening for home learning packs and online learning. We will be continuing to work on the online learning throughout the week. We want to ensure that the needs of all the pupils at Mullaglass are being met and that there will be a collaboration and contact with the teacher throughout any closure.

We will be informing parents of all this information by the end of the week or early next week at the latest.

Within school staff are reinforcing hand washing before eating, after play etc and school is being sanitised in line with guidance.

After school activities from 3-4pm will be cancelled this week. This will allow time for teachers to prepare classwork for potential closure. We will let parents know about clubs next week. 2-3pm Club remains on all week, alongside the Breakfast Club.

Paid activities are all cancelled until Easter as are Shared Education activities. We are currently working on refunds for the remaining weeks.

Thank you for your continued support at this difficult time. I will keep you updated with any new developments.
